Maths And Science Education

Some activities in Mathematics Classroom for senior classes.
INTRODUCTION
Mathematics is the exact science that requires high level of accuracy. It is one of the most interesting, systematic and logical subject. Our school has developed various activities to promote education of Maths in our school.
At primary level our aim is make student familiar with Maths basic calculation and different figure .At secondary level we move to some advanced mathematics, at secondary level we encouraged students to take part in different Maths and related competitions like junior Maths Olympiads, NTSC etc. Also every year teams participate in Maths modeling competition at different levels.
Now let’s discuss our Maths Lab Activities.
The Maths lab provides an opportunity for the students to discover mathematics through doing. Many of the activities present a problem or a challenge, with the possibility of generating further challenges and problems. The activities help students to visualize, manipulate and reason. They provide opportunity to make conjectures and test them, and to generalize observed patterns. They create a context for students to attempt to prove their conjectures.
Mathematics laboratory is a place to enjoy mathematics through informal exploration. It is a place where anyone can generate problems and struggle to get an answer. It is a space to explore and design new mathematical activities. So, the Maths lab should not be used to assess students’ knowledge of mathematics. Often mathematics lab takes students’ knowledge beyond the curriculum.
Mathematics laboratory is a self-explanatory lab with activities, in which students could come anytime (free to them) and engage in the work, continue working on the problems/tasks, and use teachers as and when they are stuck. In this way, the role of the teacher is not to teach how to progress in the activity but to facilitate inquiry with the mathematics in it. The facilitation could be done either by probing questions, giving an extra resource or asking to follow or discuss with peers.
Now I want to discuss some cool facts about Maths.
1. Zero (0) is the only number which cannot be represented by Roman numerals.
2. What comes after a million, billion and trillion? A quadrillion, quintillion, sextillion, septillion, octillion, nonillion, decillion and undecillion.
3. Plus (+) and Minus (-) sign symbols were used as early as 1489 A.D
4. 2 and 5 are the only primes that end in 2 or 5
5. An icosagon is a shape with 20 sides.

Science Education:
School provides Science Education with Modern Technology. It has highly equipped Jr. Science Lab, Chemistry Lab, Physics Lab, Biology Lab and two Computer Labs. We have highly qualified faculty, we have 11 Science Teachers in First Shift and 7 in Second Shift. Our aim is to teach Science in modern ways, to inculcate scientific temperament in Young Indians.
